Dubious

This yet-unnamed story focuses on the inhabitants of a coastal plain. There are three relevant groups: [ranchers], a semi-nomadic group of large animal herders, [scribes], a sedentary enclave of artists and scribes who have mostly integrated with the [ranchers] over the course of many generations, and new settlers, who are mostly sedentary farmers from the same home civilization as the first [scribes]. Settler farmers have tense relations with other non- and semi-sedentary inhabitants of the larger continent, but their numbers are limited here (due in part to alkaline soil that [continent 2] plants cannot grow well in).

There are 35 determined characters, mostly unnamed (all potentially renameable, should the conlanging demand it). The vast majority of these are [scribes].

A map of the relevant area is in progress.

One conlang is in progress, though I may overhaul it to align it with the social forces at play (the original project ignored cultural contact).

No plants or animals have yet been created for this setting; more in-depth specbio may take place as well, though recognizeable plants and animals may still be present in the setting. Without explanation, because that seems agonizing to work through.
