WORKINGTITLE

ClongYear. A mike project.

I recently found Jessie Peterson of LangTime Studio and quothalinguist, and on the latter, I found a project from 2024 called "Conlang Year". Today, 03/12/26 MDY, I am starting to go through the website and work on something quite like this project. Because I am young evil and impatient, I will be rushing through the first week today. I will likely be sorting everything into "weeks", to limit the number of pages I end up juggling. I don't plan on locking myself into doing 7 days a day, though, thanks to having classes, a social life, and poor time management skills.

I have no interest in making a real homepage: I will probably end up doing something with the sidebars if I end up doing all 366 days.

Day 1

Day 1

My primary goal with this language is to create a conlang without an active world or story attached - I just fully have never done this and I think it would be an interesting challenge (and a good way to let me feel that I can rework things without needing to change what I have already canonized in a larger work). I'm also interested in finally canonizing a protolang, and thing a long-term dedicated project is a good place to practice.

Day 2

My intended audience is myself and the viewers of this great Website, swordsdog-5. Documentation will occur both on aforementioned great Website swordsdog-5 and on some spreadsheet that I will inevitably lose, taking much of the language with it.

Day 3

The language is made to have been spoken on a fantastic, post-apocalyptic world by a community of traders and travellers living in and around a vast, sandy, rubble-studded desert. They originate from a town in the mountain range on its western border. They settled the desert long after the prior inhabitants died or left, but some writing remains - if I ever finish this language, I'll start work on that one.

Day 4

It occurs to me that a previous setting is presently in early enough stages of development that it would be a perfectly sufficient target for this exercise, instead of makign myself start a new WIP whenever a project idea seems fun.

Day 5

Go to Pulmon.
